GDGC’s Tuesday Topic – Wear RED for your Heart!

Are you “RED”dy for National Wear Red Day?

For those of you that don’t know me, I’m a HUGE advocate for the American Heart Association. I’m passionate about spreading the message of women and heart disease.

Think of it this way – picture 3 important women in your life right now…got them? Picturing them in your head? And, now hear this: 1 in 3 women will die of heart disease. 1 in 3! So, at least 1 of those 3 important women that you were thinking of – are subject to heart disease. The statistics are mind blowing! Heart disease is the number 1 killer in women above ALL cancers combined. Yes, that’s what I said, above ALL cancers combined! Yet, I run into lots of people that do not know this…so, I have vowed to make sure I’m spreading this important message.

National Wear Red Day is a very easy way to show your support, get educated, and spread the word. National Wear Red Day is THIS Friday, February 3, 2012. A very, very simple way to show your support is…WEAR RED! You can take it even one step further by pledging to wear red and “tell 5 to save lives”. On Friday, while you are wearing red – make a commitment to share the “Go Red for Women” message with AT LEAST 5 people. That’s simple, right?

Please do your part to WEAR RED and start living a heart healthy lifestyle – watch your diet, exercise, and make regular doctor visits. It’s really not that hard to do – heart disease is 80% preventable if you follow those guidelines!

Spread the word! GO RED!
