Transitioning to Spring – What I Wear

Here is a ‘how to video’ on easy ways to layer so you are comfortable in the cool mornings of spring and can also be comfortable in the warmer afternoons.

I would love your feedback, let me know how YOU style for these transitional days!

Are you ‘Stuck in a Rut’?

Ok, look at these 3 pictures. What similarities do you see? Do you see a pattern or, as they say in the fashion world, a trend?

I have to chuckle as I look at these in two different ways. One, I feel like I have set it up similar to those ‘comparison pictures’ you get in magazines/newspapers where they ask you to find what is different/missing in the two pics. And two, I feel like I’m providing an example of pattern (repetition) that my stepson has been learning in school these days.

But, I digress…

Look at these 3 pictures – do you see the trend? Do you see the repetition of the longer, bigger sweater, with the skinny jean, and the tall boot?  Yep, that is it! That is the trend and/or pattern.

That is what can be called ‘stuck in a rut’. Now, typically, you hear that phrase ‘stuck in a rut’ as being a bad thing; meaning  you have to change a current habit and form a better one. But to me, ‘stuck in a rut’ doesn’t have to have a “bad” connotation.

Being ‘stuck in a rut’ when it comes to fashion can be a good thing – if you LIKE it and feel GREAT in it!  Then it changes from ‘stuck in a rut’ to ‘knowing what works for me!’

For example, the three pics above – I have learned that the concept of the longer sweater, skinny jean, and tall boot works well for me. It is a combination that I know works and can be a go-to outfit when I am trying to get out the door in a hurry. I also know that this look has been a hot trend over the fall/winter months so I’m confident that I’m ‘on trend’ when I walk out the door.

So, being ‘stuck in a rut’ isn’t always a bad thing! When you figure out what works for you…then wear it and wear it proudly!

So, my question to you is this: Do you feel like you are “stuck in a rut” in a good or bad way?

Stylishly,

Heidi
